A Look Inside The Renovated Off-Grid Airstream From Drivin’ & Vibin’

This post was updated on March 15th, 2024

Kyle and Olivia Brady from Drivin’ & Vibin’ recently finished a year-and-a-half-long restoration of an old 1979 Airstream Argosy. The couple, who have been full-timing since 2015 in a vintage Fiber Stream camper, completed all of the work themselves without any previous renovation experience. They gutted the interior and rebuilt the trailer to be both comfortable and sustainable off-the-grid.

The roof was topped with cell boosters and WiFi extenders for a more reliable connection. Their 640-watt solar panel system was also mounted on the roof and includes a 500ah lithium battery system.

They lifted the frame four inches for easier access to remote boondocking sites. An LED-UV ray water filtration system was also installed so they will have clean water no matter where they’re camping.

They opted for a front bed layout with the bathroom in the rear of the trailer. Their new bathroom houses an Air Head composting toilet and a small corner shower. The new mattress from Mattress Insider was custom designed for the perfect fit.
