This post was updated on March 27th, 2024

Fans of fiberglass travel trailers will not want to miss the Boler 50th Anniversary event coming up in August 2018.  The five-day celebration will mark fifty years since the Boler trailer was first introduced in 1968, and is expected to be the largest gathering of fiberglass travel trailers in history.

The Boler 50th Anniversary will be held from August 15-19, 2018 at Red River Exhibition Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

It’s the perfect place to celebrate Boler’s 50th anniversary, since the Canadian trailer was originally invented in Winnipeg.

When the Boler trailer was first built in 1968 it was made with two molded fiberglass halves (top and bottom).

These came together to form a watertight egg shell that was durable yet lightweight.  The comfy interior included a stove, fridge or icebox, sink, and sleeping room for 2-4 people.

There will be food trucks and concession stands serving a variety of grub, plus a beer and wine garden.  Workshops and demonstrations are scheduled throughout the five days, including:

  • 3D Printed Trailer – the technology, design with Q&A
  • A “Cushion And Curtain” workshop
  • Trailer Maintenance & Tips
  • Camp Kitchen
  • Camper Arts & Crafts
  • Photography
  • And activities for kids including games and a scavenger hunt.

Vendors will also be showcasing their fiberglass trailers and products.  You can see inside the Happier Camper HC1 and Armadillo Trailer, or pick up a new awning or travel trailer cover.

Each morning the event will have coffee and yoga, followed by group ukulele sessions—anyone can join in or walk over to watch.  Thursday, August 16th will wrap up with a wine and cheese social and music; Friday, August 17 there will be a BBQ Beef-On-A-Bun dinner and more entertainment.

On Saturday, August 18, they will open the event to the public to tour trailers and talk with owners.  Those interested in showcasing their trailer can leave their door open for viewing, otherwise you can simply leave your door closed and locked.

They have room at the event for 1,000 trailers and expect to sell out! If you have a fiberglass trailer and want to reserve a spot, get your ticket in advance on their website MyBoler.com.  For more info, see their Rules, Guidelines, and FAQs.

  1. There will be several new trailer manufacturers there with trailers to show. I am also sure that a number of the participants will have their used trailers for sale.
