These 5 Luxurious RV Resorts Are LGBT-Friendly

Gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender-friendly locations are growing all the time. From bars and clubs to restaurants and hotels, gay families, couples and singles can relax at a variety of LGBTQ-friendly places on vacation—including RV resorts.

These five RV resorts not only offer luxurious amenities and activities for the gay community, but they are also located in some stunning areas. Gay and lesbian RV owners can search for more resorts on the Rainbow RV camping club website. The site also offers memberships, an event calendar and camping forums.

1. Ventura Ranch KOA, California

The 76-acre Ventura Ranch KOA is located at the foot of Ventura County’s highest range, the Topatopa Mountains. The resort sits next to a little creek and is surrounded by trees, wildlife, and great views. In addition, the KOA is only 15 miles from Santa Barbara’s beaches.

Ventura Ranch is an activity haven and the resort not only has a pool, but also a 1,400 zip line. If you want an interesting experience out of your RV, the resort offers Indian-styled teepees and Glamour Tents that come furnished with beds and luxurious details. The KOA also offers small cabins for rent and one of them was featured on HGTV’s “Tiny House Hunters.” RV sites go for about $69 per night and all KOA benefits apply.

2. Pacific Shores MotorCoach Resort, Oregon

This year-round resort in Newport, Oregon welcomes the LGBT community as well as families and single RVers. Many of the sites at Pacific Shores MotorCoach Resort are either right on the Pacific Ocean or have views of the water.

The resort offers full hook-ups, heated swimming pools, three saunas, two hot tubs, and a fireplace in the clubhouse for those foggy Oregon days. Rates range from $85 per night in the winter to $115 per night in the summer.

3. Jamaica Beach RV Resort, Texas

Located on Galveston Island, the Jamaica Beach RV Resort has great views of Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The RV park has 111 full hookup pull-thru sites, WiFi, two swimming pools, an indoor hot tub, mini golf course, and an exercise room. The resort also has outdoor movie nights and is close to the Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark.

Jamaica Beach is also an hour south of Houston and its 35-plus year Gay Pride parade; each year the parade attracts over 300,000 participants. Rates at the RV park are around $45 per weekend night and the resort honors Good Sam, Trailer Life, TACO, military and senior discounts.

4. Woodland RV Park, Colorado

For RVers who prefer the mountains to the beach, Woodland RV Park in Colorado Springs has amazing views of Pikes Peak as well as the red rocks where the state of Colorado got its name.

All RV sites at this family-friendly park have 50 amp hookups, free WiFi, and only cost $42.50 per night. The resort is close to Cripple Creek and the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument.

5. Sawmill Camping Resort, Florida

Sawmill Camping Resort is an RV resort and special event venue for gay men only. The resort is known for its fun and wild events like “I Love the 80’s Throwback Weekend”, “Spring Break Foam Party” and comedy and music events featuring local and regional drag queens.

They offer various accommodations like standard and deluxe cabins as well as RV sites. Their RV sites include outdoor grills, paved patios, picnic tables, and hookups. Costs range from $60 during the week to $85 on the weekends. The Splash poolside bar and cafe serves full meals as well as cocktails and frozen drinks.
