Neverwas Haul: The Word Custom Doesn’t Really Capture It

Looking like something straight out off a Hollywood movie set, meet the Neverwas Haul. It is equal parts motorhome, steam locomotive, and Victorian style home. It was created as a showpiece for the annual Burning Man event in the Black Rock Desert.

It is an annual art event that draws all kinds of imagined creations, including this 24 foot long and 12 foot wide oddity. It features a diesel engine and a genuine wooden ship’s wheel. It clocks at a blistering 7mph when going full throttle. it has a single cylinder diesel engine which drives a hydraulic pump to reach those speeds. Surprisingly, the design is built on top of a 5th wheel travel trailer which brings the size of the Neverwas Haul to the legal highway height and width. Not to mention it then can also be towed behind a pickup truck.
