At first you might think storing things in an RV would be the same as a house or apartment. But as soon as you start driving you’ll realize that things shift around a lot.
Sometimes it can even cause containers in your fridge to spill and cause a mess. Bungee cords are great for keeping things secure, but you can also use these five handy accessories to hold your items in place.
1. Cupboard bars
For both your fridge and your cupboards, these bars from Camco can be adjusted to fit wherever you need. They extend from 10″ to 17″ and can even double as a curtain rod. They’re sold in a 3-pack on Amazon in plastic for only $7, as well as in an oak finish (as pictured above) for about $5.
2. Fridge braces
Food and drink containers can roll around, spill, and cause a mess in your fridge while you’re driving. To keep things from shifting, try some of these Fridge Braces from Camco. They easily attach to most wire shelves and will secure everything from your milk to your pickle jar. They come in a set of two on Amazon.
3. Cargo bars with storage nets
With a detachable storage net, these bars hold cargo in place and loose items you don’t want rolling around. They adjust from 40″ to 70″ and fit in the back of most trucks, vans, and cars. You can easily position the bar wherever needed to keep your items from shifting. Find them online here.
4. Shower organizers
So you’ve gotten your food and drinks secured. What about the items in your shower? Bottles like shampoo and conditioner can also roll around while you’re driving. You can DIY with suction cup holders and hair scrunchies, or get a cheap (but quality) shower caddy. This one from Evelots is made with fast-drying polyester mesh and keeps your shower essentials within easy reach. They’re about $11 on Amazon.
5. Trunk organizers
These sturdy Cargo Bags from Red Oak Outfitters can hold up to 100 lbs at a time. They fit in almost any car, truck, SUV, hatchback, RV, crossover, or station wagon. You can fold them down flat and clip them shut when they’re not in use, or expand them out and fill them with everything from food to emergency supplies and jumper cables. They come with two large storage compartments and ten other pockets where you can stuff smaller items. For more info, check them out on Amazon.
