This post was updated on June 23rd, 2018

As these new RVers learned, you should never take a motorhome (or any vehicle) that doesn’t have four-wheel drive off-road through the mud.

Luckily there was a whole team of strangers nearby to the rescue, and they were able to pull it to safety without anybody getting hurt. The couple’s modestly embarrassed, but this kind of mistake happens to all of us. The best part is you get to meet amazing people out of the experience and learn something along the way too.

It’s always a good idea to have basic recovery gear on you, just in case you get stuck in similar situations. A good set of Traction Mats can prevent your tires from spinning on snow, sand, mud, or ice. You’ll also want a folding shovel, and an Air Deflator because airing down your tires can help increase traction.

This video is a great reminder that despite everything going on in the world, there are still kindhearted people out there looking out for one another. What are some mistakes you’ve made as an RVer? We’d love to hear your stories!
