Upgrade Your RV Power Outlet: The Belkin Conserve Socket Will Save You Money And Hassle

This post was updated on March 15th, 2024

Power consumption is a concern for most RVers, particularly boondockers or full-timers that dry camp in between destinations.

This handy device from Belkin will lower your energy usage by shutting down other devices when you turn off the device connected to the master outlet.

The power strip senses when the device connected to the green colored Master Outlet is on or off, and controls power to five additional outlets.

When you turn the device that is connected to the Master Outlet on or off, power to the other outlets automatically goes on or off as well.

When you use this Belkin energy-saving power strip, you won’t waste energy by having devices stay in standby mode, and you won’t have to deal with the hassle of turning on or off each device individually.

The Belkin Conserve Socket looks like a normal surge protector, but with a color-coded master outlet.

If you don’t need or wan’t devices to be turned on or off with the master device – that’s fine too. There’s two additional outlets that work just like normal outlets, and aren’t controlled by the status of the master device.

How to Set Up the Belkin Conserve Socket with Energy Saving Outlet

To start, all you do is plug the “master device” into the green outlet (usually a TV) then follow up by plugging in all your additional components.

As mentioned above, there are two sockets that are unaffected by the power save feature and can be used for any of your devices that must be plugged in 24/7.

This power strip also serves as a surge protector for your valuable electronics, and comes with a $100,000 connected equipment warranty.

You can easily mount the device to the wall using simple screws.
