RV Wine Rack Idea from Timeless Travel Trailers

This post was updated on March 15th, 2024

As the saying goes “To each his (or her) own”. We appreciate that every RV’er has their own way of enjoying their time in this world. Many of those people tend to enjoy a glass of wine in their RV. The trouble with wine is that its typically encased in a glass bottle. The issue with a glass bottle is the distinct possibility of breakage, but even more annoying is the clinking and clanking of glass while in transit. At times the occasional clank can even happen when your up and around your RV. Its only fair that if you choose to partake in the wonderment of wine, that you also have a convenient way to store it or your own RV wine rack. It also doesn’t hurt for the RV wine rack idea to be clever.

In this case the reputation for being innovate craftsman for the folks over at Timeless Travel Trailers is proven yet again. They were asked to create a RV wine rack that was purpose built for the unique aspects of RV’ing. What they came up with was nothing short of perfect and we hope you agree. Timeless Travel Trailers were working on a project in a 2003 Airstream Safari and used some extra space in the upper cabinet area in the kitchen to create a custom RV wine rack. Now we all know that you can grab a wine rack for a few dollars at Walmart or from Amazon.com but there are not many that can handle the storage duties while on the road. This RV wine rack design is simple yet effective in doing exactly what is needed for the stresses a RV can put on a wine bottle.

You will notice of the two photos above, one shows the cabinetry structure then the other shows the face of the cabinet with the locking mechanism that keeps the bottles in place while moving. We think that some felt wouldn’t hurt to be added around the openings and the parts that touch the bottles to reduce the clanking. But aside from that this is a wonderful design that can be scaled to fit in a bottom cabinet, over a washer/dryer, or even under a dinette. If you have some skills with woodworking this should be a simple RV mod that will bring breakage and clanking security to your RV.
