HDT Truck RV With Car Storage: Unique Way to Take a Car Along

This post was updated on March 15th, 2024

rv-with-car-storage-3Having a car to jet around with is virtual necessity when you travel in a motorhome or if you tow with a large vehicle. Exploring is one of the biggest perks of RV travel and it can prove to be difficult without manageable transportation. This is of course why so many folks choose to tow a car or try to fit a means of transportation into the back of a toy hauler. One option that seems to be rising in popularity is the RV with car storage already built in.

We have seen many examples of larger motorhomes with this option. We have even seen big rigs towing fifth wheel that allow for a small car to be loaded between the cab and the hitch. While staying at a campground in New Orleans recently, we saw an entirely new take on the idea of a RV with car storage. We first spotted this HDT truck pulling a traditional fifth wheel RV. It was a little different as it had what looked like a storage compartment directly behind the cab that had been decorated with graphics to match the truck.

It was not till we ran out to get a closer look did we see how interesting of a setup this really was. The owner had a hydraulic setup similar to that on the back of box trucks. You know the one that lets the user stack items on it then slowly lower themselves to the ground for unloading? Think of that concept but with a small car on it.

Out of no where a car appears and it set smoothly onto the ground for unloading. The best part is, that is loads back onto the truck just as simply as it came off. What do you think of this setup? Please share your thoughts in the comments below!
