Great news: you don’t have to settle for just hot dogs and chili on your next camping trip.
Cooking outdoors was just made a whole lot more simple, thanks to California-based company, Scout Equipment Co. They recently announced these new Overland Kitchens, which combine all the luxuries of cooking in modern kitchens into a sleek, compact design that can easily slide out from the back of your vehicle.
They’re built as one large, organized unit with multiple compartments that hold everything you need to prep, cook, serve and wash up after every meal.
The large main drawer easily pulls out in just seconds.
Custom-built, they can include everything from a front-loading fridge to a stove, magnetic paper-towel holder, and USB charging ports.
The multiple work surfaces give plenty of space to chop up veggies and do any other prep cooking.
They come stocked with all of the utensils you may need to cook, neatly organized in pre-cut foam inserts.
And when you’re all done, the kitchen sink with running water and soap dispenser make cleaning everything up afterwards a breeze.
There’s a water pump for the sink, and the unit runs on its own battery and charging system, separate from the car.
The kitchens are built with an aluminum frame, and bolted on top of a vehicle-specific base plate so they won’t slide around every time you turn.
Because they’re still new, they only make kitchens that fit Toyota 4Runner and Toyota Tacoma trucks right now.
But they’re also developing kitchens that will fit in Sprinter vans and Jeep JK models, and welcome interested customers to contact them about any other additional vehicles.
Pricing starts around $5,500, depending on the features you choose. If you’re interested in getting an Overland Kitchen of your own, head over to Scout Equipment’s website here for more details.
