Step Inside This Charming Converted Sprinter Van

This post was updated on March 15th, 2024

Like many van dwellers, Brett Currie quit his job and sold his home to travel full time.  The Scottish native spent over eight months building out a 2010 Mercedes Super High Roof Sprinter Van.  His home-on-wheels now sports a kitchen, bathroom, and even a small bookshelf.

The interior was rebuilt with wood siding and custom-made cushions and curtains.  His bed pulls out to be queen size, and the headboard wall separates storage in the back.

For the kitchen, Brett added new countertops from IKEA, a small stove, oven, sink, and fridge.  He also mounted a metal rod with hooks on the wall to easily hang items.

Past the kitchen, his spacious bathroom has a toilet and a shower.  The van’s powered by two solar panels on the roof, along with a 300-amp battery and power inverter.

Brett encourages anyone considering a van conversion to go for it.

“For anyone thinking about doing a van conversion themselves, I would say absolutely go for it.  I mean I had no previous knowledge or experience and I was able to do it.  So if I can do it, anybody can do it!”
