A tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) could prevent a tire blowout and save your life one day.

The world’s first smartphone-based system for RVs and trailers, TireMinder Smart TPMS works with iPhones, iPads, and Android devices (with IOS 7+ or Android with Bluetooth 4.0+).

The system continually monitors for high/low tire pressure, leaks, and high temperature, which can all lead to tire blowouts.

The system comes with screw-on transmitters, a Bluetooth adapter, and a rhino signal booster to prevent interference from other electronic devices.  The manufacturer Minder Research also produces “Tempminder” products to monitor temperature and humidity levels, a “Nightminder” line of night, motion and safety lights, and other various items for RVs.

Every six seconds the system monitors your tires for issues.  If it senses a problem like your tire pressure is too low, or the temperature is too high, the TPMS will send an audio and visual alert to your phone (or iPad) and the included Bluetooth adapter.

The TireMinder tire pressure monitoring systems are about $290-355 on Amazon.  A bit of an investment, but it’s worth the money for the safety and peace of mind.

The systems are available with either four transmitters or six transmitters, depending on how many tires you want to monitor.  They also offer 2-packs of extra transmitters here.
