Road trips may only last for a few days, weeks or months, but at some point they come to an end. They’ll leave with you hundreds of gigabytes of wonderful photos, but it would be a shame to keep all of them just on your computer and phone. Creating beautiful photo books is the perfect way to cherish, preserve and share your travel memories. Personalized photo books make great conversation-starting coffee table books and thoughtful long-lasting presents.
A variety of companies are available to choose from to make your photo book. Here are five that stand out:
1. Artifact Uprising
Artifact Uprising offers six different styles of photo books to choose from such as a lay-flat book, a hardcover, a softcover, and it’s unique Instagram-friendly photo book. The Instagram-friendly book is made up of 100% recycled pages with designs made to fit your square images. Artifact Uprising’s website will connect directly to your Instagram feed so that no uploading is necessary to create your book. The other book styles all offer a variety of options so that you can personalize your book’s size, page layouts and text. Prices range from $18 to $140.
If you don’t have the time to make your own photo books, Shutterfly can design one for you. It’s easy and quick – all you have to do is select one of five different book sizes and over 30 style options, then simply upload your photos. Shutterfly can even curate the best photos for you if you’d like. You can also provide special instructions so they design the perfect photo book for you. Your book will be completed in 3 business days. Shutterfly will email to let you know it’s ready, at which point you can order your book as is or you can personalize it with finishing touches. The cost varies based on the book size from $29.99 to $74.99. A one-time service fee of $9.99 is applied once you order your completed book.
Snapfish lets you personalize every detail of your photo book. You can choose your photo book type – between soft cover, hardcover, lay-flat hardcover and premium lay-flat hardcover. Next you can choose from 100 different photo book styles to properly convey the story you want to tell. Then there are four different types of cover to make a great first impression. And that’s just the beginning. Each page of your photo book can be customized to fit your personality – the design theme, page background, photo layout, text and embellishments. Photo book prices vary from $12.99 to $109.99 depending on your selections.
Picaboo is another company that can help you create a lasting photo book. It’s more hands-on than Shutterfly but offers less options than Snapfish. Picaboo offers 5 types of books: classic, seamless lay-flat, a leather wrap, a full leather with a foil stamped cover, or a mini photo book small enough to fit in a pocket or purse. There are 35 different themes to choose from and Picaboo offers an app for you to create your book straight from your phone. Photos can be edited from the website and app, along with customizing your project by choosing how your photos are laid out, backgrounds, texts and more. Books start at $19.99 and range all the way up to $400.
Costco members will be happy to know that the Costco photo center offers personalized photo books. There are three types of photo books available: premium layflat, custom photo cover, and padded leather cover. Unlike the other companies that offer a variety of photo book sizes, Costco only offers two sizes. Costco’s website lets you use their Simple Builder tool to quickly create your own books or you can choose the Custom Builder which has more customization tools. Photo books start at $17.99 and can be picked up from a warehouse in 5–7 business days.
