This Camping Chair Collapses To The Size Of A Thermos Bottle

This post was updated on March 15th, 2024

Talk about space efficient! While you might be able to find a number of camping chairs on the market that are relatively compact, there are none out there quite as uniquely comfortable as the Therm-A-Rest Treo Chair, designed by Therm-A-Rest in collaboration with ITO Design!

Built at a regular seat height, the chair isn’t too difficult to get in and out of and its collapsible design makes it extremely easy to bring on your trip.

If you’re all about saving space while packing, this ultralight item is a must add to your collection of camping gear!

Cool Things

Let’s face it: most typical camping chairs are way too easy to sink into and can become outright unbearable, especially if you like to sit for awhile around the campfire roasting delicious s’mores – or just sharing crazy ghost stories.

Regardless, you’ll definitely want to be seated in something that not only supports your back while sitting down for a few hours but also isn’t too heavy to drag along, considering there’s plenty of other essential camping gear to pack on your trip!

Cool Things

Built at a normal seat height of 13″ (33 cm), this chair features a durable, 6000-series aluminum frame structure as well as a composite tripod base so it can be placed on rocks, sand, dirt and more without feeling too unstable.

It’s able to support up to about 250 lbs and includes an integrated elastic band to secure it for easy storage.

Even though it’s used as a regular-sized chair it can pack into its own tiny tripod base, making it incredibly easy to transport. To set the chair up, all you have to do is plug the four aluminum poles (which are just a little bit larger than most tent supports) into four holes on the composite base and the seat will slide onto the pole ends.

Pretty awesome, right? You can find Therm-A-Rest Treo Chairs in many outdoor stores or online, including their website at Therm-A-Rest, as well as from REI and on Amazon where it’s received several raving reviews.

They come in an assortment of colors from lime green to blue to standard black and cost about $60-100.
