You Won’t Believe What This Movie Star Said About RV Life. And He May Be Right.

You’ve probably watched the movie Dumb and Dumber. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels had me in stitches twenty years ago (it’s been that long?!)

Jeff Daniels (Jim Carrey’s side kick in the movie) was in a lot of other popular TV shows and movies over the last couple of decades including:

  • Speed with Keanu Reeves
  • Frasier
  • Gettysburg
  • Gods and Generals
  • RV with the late Robin Williams

What you might not know is that Daniels is an accomplished musician and songwriter, as well as an avid RVer.

He’s even made a video series about an RV trip he took around the Upper Peninsula.

But it’s during his unreleased song ‘Recreational Vehicle‘ when he says,

I don’t think you can call yourself a real American till you’ve been behind the wheel of an RV.

Here’s Daniels singing ‘Recreational Vehicle.’ If you like Arlo Guthrie you’ll love this performance.

  1. Jeff Daniels is great. Anything to do with RVs is A-OK. If only the making money on the road part were easier. There is no other way to live, I think, but being able to afford to go and keep going on anything less than a movie star salary is not as easy as one may think. We do our best, and would not trade it for any other life.

  2. I always thought Jeff Daniels was the PERFECT man. Now I know I am right! Thanks Jeff – for this, for your YouTube channel, for your great performance in The Newsroom, and for everything else! You ROCK!!

  3. We loved them… laughed all the way through to the end of episode 12. That led us to Jeff’s website and we just watched the trailer for D&D2. It looks like it has its moments, but I’m guessing we’ll pass (never saw the first one either). 😉

  4. Really have to thank you Eric for posting this. We just finished watching all 12 webisodes on Jeff Daniels’ YouTube channel straight through from start to finish. Episode 7 was our favorite: “Using the Facilities” (while driving down the road). It was hysterical.
