Having used a tiny Ford Transit work van before (and worked inside of it during inclement weather) I can tell you that it’s darn near impossible to stand up straight in the rear cargo area. The lack of headroom in the back, as well as the tiny wheels that make driving on American roads a nightmare are probably why many small local business have upgraded to larger Nissan or Mercedes work vans.
We came across a rather interesting looking 1988 Nissan S-Cargo van at Bring a Trailer recently that has had some custom aftermarket work done on it. And while it’s not a camper per se, it would be fun to imagine what this could be if outfitted as a weekender.
The near-vintage cargo van features a full-length fabric sunroof and is priced at $8,800. It’s located in Los Angeles, California.
The front seats look to be a classic bench style, with no center arm rest or storage console.
While there’s sure not a lot of space in back, at least the sun roof lets in some light! It might be possible to remove the rear folding seats in favor of one of these Euro-camping kits. Learn more about this Nissan van at Mini Truck Dealer.
