These Wild West Guest Wagons Are Straight From The Gold Rush Days

While the thought of hot springs, yoga, and massage on a snowy winter’s day sounds amazing, what really attracts your attention to the beautiful Avalanche Ranch in Redstone, Colorado are the three guest wagons that bring a little Wild West history to contemporary times.

Avalanche Ranch in Colorado has three authentic wagons for guests to rent.

The Shepherd’s Wagon has a cast iron wood stove and a bright red deck.

Of course, at Avalanche Ranch you can stay in several other cabins that range from studios to three bedrooms, but these little wagons offer all you need in a tiny space with wonderful details.

You can choose from the Shepherd’s Wagon with its authentic sheep wagon interior (including a wood stove), the Covered Wagon with its metal roof, and the Gypsy Wagon with its bright colors.

The Gypsy Wagon is bright and colorful and attracts the younger guests.

The interior of the Gypsy Wagon features a full bed and classic wagon style.

Electricity, a coffee maker, a heater, and a fan are also included.

Each of the wagons have views of the beautiful 36 acre resort.

The wagons rent for $85 per night and include access to the resort’s hot springs and local activities like hiking and fishing in the summer and snowshoeing and ice skating in the winter. The wagons also have a front porch, charcoal BBQ grill, and picnic table.

The Covered Wagon has a porch as well as a BBQ grill and a picnic table.

The interior looks just like the original covered wagons of the Wild West.

Full beds, coffee makers, electric heaters and fans, towels, bedding, and great views of the valley come standard no matter where you stay. Restrooms and showers are not available in the wagons, but guests just need to take a quick jaunt over to the hot springs for those.

Avalanche Ranch has three natural hot spring pools.

The 36 acre Avalanche Ranch has 13 cozy log cabins, a one bedroom loft apartment, three bedroom ranch house, a cozy log lounge, and the entire property can accommodate up to about 60 people.

The property also features three natural hot spring pools in a tiered layout, surrounded by natural landscaping and a three-foot waterfall.

Guests who stay at Avalanche Ranch can access the pools all day and night. Massage sessions are also available for guests for $85 for 50 minutes and yoga is available in the “yoga barn.” The wagons, as well as the entire resort, can be reserved for a private event like a wedding or family reunion.
