Camping is awesome, no doubt. Hotels can be pretty awesome, too…but there’s something about setting up a tent or your RV that completely triumphs staying in a hotel no matter how luxurious it is or what amenities are offered. Although this list could be infinite, here are five reasons why camping in the great outdoors will always be much better than checking into and out of any hotel.
1. First and foremost, you’ll save a ton of money.
The small fee at most campgrounds doesn’t even compare to the nightly rate you’ll have to shell out at most hotels. And who doesn’t love saving money?!
2. Camping actually has health benefits!
Simply being in the great outdoors has been proven to have a positive impact on our health. Studies have shown that being outside can not only boost your immune system, but also help lower your blood pressure, reduce stress and improve your mood, increase your ability to focus (even in children with ADHD), accelerate recovery after a surgery or illness, increase energy levels and it can even help improve your sleep! What kind of health benefits do you get from staying inside of a hotel? I’ll let you get back to me on that one.
3. You can truly unplug from the world.
Honestly, most hotels offer free WiFi with your stay so it’s practically like being at home anyways, but in a building away from your actual house with free shampoo bottles in the bathroom. Free products aside, camping’s a real vacation because whether or not you can put away your phone, the lack of reception will force you to completely disconnect from all of the technology that consumes so much of our lives these days.
4. The opportunities to explore the world are endless.
There’s so much to see out in the world and so little time. Why spend your vacation trip staring at the boring paint on a wall inside of a hotel when you could be spending your afternoon outside with an all-natural view like this?
5. You can actually start a campfire!
The comforting warmth of a campfire doesn’t even compare to the heater in a hotel. You can’t roast good ole-fashioned s’mores over it and sitting around a heater with friends telling epic ghost stories just isn’t the same!
Do you prefer camping over staying in a hotel? What else would you add to this list?
6. Freedom: you can change your plans anytime and go anywhere and do anything much easier with an RV than you can in a hotel.
7. Time and convenience: no more checking in and out of hotels daily during a road trip. No more tipping hotel folks either!
