Storage is limited in most RVs and campers, so using the little space you do have efficiently can make all the difference. You won’t only free up valuable room in cabinets and drawers, but organizing also makes it easier to access the items that you use every day.
Luckily, storage solutions aren’t always expensive or time-consuming. These ten mods are all easy and cost less than ten bucks on Amazon.
1. Mount a bag holder on the inside of a cabinet door.
Instead of using a trash bin, mount one of these holders on the inside of your RV’s cabinets. They’ll save you space (and money on trash bags) by reusing the plastic bags you already get from the store.
These hangers are easy to install with double-sided tape (included) or Command hooks. Camco offers them in a two-pack for $3 on Amazon.
2. Use a pop-up utility container.
You can use these pop-up baskets for trash, laundry, or storage. They’re soft, flexible, and collapse in seconds to be stored away. Get them for about $8 here.
3. Hang a clear organizer with pockets.
Hanging organizers have versatility. You can use them in the bathroom to hold toiletries, in the bedroom to hold clothes/socks/shoes, or even in the kitchen to hold food and personal items like your phone.
We recommend using clear hanging organizers to make it easier to tell what’s in each pocket. These 12-pocket organizers are super cheap at about $6.
4. Use clips to hold your spices inside cabinets.
If your cinnamon and parsley don’t have a good home, mount a spice rack to keep them nicely organized yet still easily accessible.
This set holds up to twelve spice jars and can be installed on the inside of cabinet doors with double-sided tape (which comes included). They’re about $10 on Amazon.
5. Slide a paper towel holder over cabinet doors.
These holders easily slide over cabinet doors to hold your paper towels. They free up counter space, fit over different styles of cabinets, and still allow the doors to close. They’re $7 on Amazon and don’t require any tools or installation.
6. Keep all of your essentials close in a bedside caddy.
These $8 bedside organizers hold anything you need within easy arm’s reach. They have four pockets with enough space to store items like your phone, glasses, tablet, and the TV remote.
7. Use under-the-shelf baskets.
You can double how much you’re able to store in cabinets with under-the-shelf baskets. These $10 baskets slide on the underside of shelves and create a usable new place to store things like aluminum foil, plastic wrap, food, utensils and other small items.
They also make it easier to access things you use often that always get pushed to the back.
8. Store knives inside cabinets.
Storing your knives out of the way can free up tons of drawer space. These mountable racks hold up to seven knives (2″ wide or smaller) safely inside cabinets, or on any smooth wood or metal surface.
They come with double-sided tape and screws for installation (or you can use Command hooks). Camco’s knife racks cost less than $5 on Amazon.
9. Mount your toothbrush and razor on the wall.
Mounting a toothbrush holder to the wall can save valuable space in your RV’s bathroom. These steel holders also hold razors and have a peel-off backing that doesn’t damage the wall surface.
10. Hold small items in these baskets.
These tiny baskets clip anywhere you need to store lightweight things: in the pantry to hold packets, in the bathroom to hold medicine, or even in the kitchen to hold sponges and other miscellaneous items. They’re only $4 on Amazon and easy to set up without any hardware.
