Today I want to introduce you to a very creative and interesting do it yourself idea for creating a solar powered RV heater that you can make with mostly low cost easily attainable items. In this video the application is for a brick and mortar home but the principle will apply to your RV as well. It should also mean that you wont need as many or a large of units to get the job done. The producer of the video guide mentions that for an RV heater you should consider a series of “mini solar panels” that could be used along with small computer fans to force the air in. When there is enough sun to make the fans run then there is enough sun to heat your RV. The Materials you will need to get started:
- Old light fixture
- Aluminum Tape
- Flat black paint
- Glass cut to fixture size
- Silicone caulking and gun
- Latex or nitrile gloves
- Protective gloves for handling glass and cutting metal
- Hammer and Screwdriver
- Metal scissors
- Thermometer. Drywall screws and drill with a Phillips bit
- Glass cutter and marker (If cutting own glass)
- Optional mini solar panel and computer fan.
