As a follow up to our How To: Create Your Own RV Blog – Where to Start, we wanted to offer a little more meat on the bone for any reader that may need a more in depth guide on how to create their own RV blog. This quick guide was designed with the first time RV blog in mind. This RV blog guide will walk you step by step through the process of registering, setting up, and creating a blog post using the Google Blogger service. This service is free of charge and offers some of the most user friendly and feature rich blog software available today. Its an all-one-solution that suits most of the RV bloggers out there and is easy one of the most popular among RV’ers. Creating a RV blog with Blogger.com shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes. Lets get started!

 

Step 1: Sign Up (Skip to Step 4 if you already have a google account)

Visit www.Blogger.com and sign up by clicking the red “Sign Up” button in the top right hand corner of the screen.

If you already have a Gmail address or Google account this part is very easy. Simply login and in a few moments you are ready to skip to Step 4.

 

Step 2: Register

This is fairly self explanatory. You need to input your personal information, choose your user name and password.

 

Step 3: Add A Profile Photo that will show when you (the author) is quoted. Then Click “Next Step”.

Step 4: Confirm your profile and continue to Blogger.com

Click “Continue to Blogger”

 

Step 5: Click “New Blog”

Step 6: Personalize your new RV blog

Chose the Title of your RV blog (ex. Jim Smiths Adventures) ,the URL (http://(Whateveryouchoose).blogspot.com), and the Template (The layout and look of your RV Blog which can be changed later). Then click “Create Blog“. Be sure to choose something memorable if possible for your address as it is how people will find you.

Step 7: Click the orange pen to start your first RV blog post

Step 9: Enter a Title for Your First RV Blog Post

For example, “Visiting the Alamo”.

 

Step 10: Upload an Image

By clicking the Insert Image button (reference Step 8) you will arrive at this screen. You can upload a photo from your computer by clicking browse and finding that file on your PC. Or you can click “From a URL” and enter the web address to the image file you want to insert. Once completed click “Add Selected” and your image will show on the main edit screen.

 

Step 11: Start Writing

Click in this area under your image you just inserted and begin to tell your story regarding your first blog post. Share stories, locations, sights and anything else you would like to go along with the theme of your new RV blog.

 

Step 12: Proofread and Format

Just a friendly reminder to proofread and format your page to be easy to read and free of errors. Refer back to Step 8 to get a better feel for the options you have to customize your RV blog posts.

 

Step 13: Publish and Preview

Click “Publish” at the top of your editing screen when your done with Step 11. Notice also that you have the choice of “Save” which will allow you to work on this post at another time and “Preview” which will show you what the live post would look like given the formatting you have chosen without publishing it.

Step 14: Enjoy your new RV Blog
