How To Winterize A Forest River R-Pod Travel Trailer

If you’re not a snowbird who heads south during cold weather, you’ll have to prepare your RV for its annual winter nap. This process – called winterization – prevents water in your RV’s plumbing system from freezing, potentially damaging pipes and valve assemblies. If you don’t winterize your RV properly, come spring you might have leaky pipes or wood rot to contend with.

When winterizing your RV, you have two options:

  1. use RV antifreeze to displace and flush out the water
  2. use an air compressor to blow out the water

In this video by R-Pod Spotter, you’ll learn how to winterize a Forest River R-Pod using RV antifreeze.

It sure would come in handy if each RV manufacturer would make a winterization checklist for their particular model. Every RV has components in different places, and it can be tough to find the right valve or fixture in different models. For R-Pod owners, this video will sure come in handy!
