9 Instant Pot Dessert Recipes To Make Your Next RV Trip Sweeter

If you’ve been in the world of RVing for any time at all, you’ve probably already heard about the wonders of the Instant Pot. If you haven’t, it’s high time you did.

The Instant Pot is an amazing, multi-functional kitchen tool that can 1) completely replace a hot propane stove and oven, 2) reduce cooking times, and 3) reduce clean-up. My family uses ours to make dinner on a regular basis, and I know many RVing families who never use anything else.

Still, while many people adore their Instant Pots and use them for every meal, very few people use them to create desserts. This is a shame because so many delicious desserts can be made in the appliance. Not only that, I believe the Instant Pot works leaps and bounds better than any RV oven I’ve come across!

Want to try making dessert in your Instant Pot? Below are several of my favorite recipes. Just make sure you switch out your rubber sealing ring before attempting any of these sweet treats. Those rings like to hold onto scents, and the savory flavors left over from last night’s roast may not complement your cake very well.

1. Banana Bread

Everyone loves banana bread! It’s the perfect way to use up overripe fruit, and a great way to celebrate a crisp fall camping trip. What could make it even better? Making it in the Instant Pot using this fabulous recipe, of course!

Using your Instant Pot will help you avoid burning in the middle—which is what tends to happen in unevenly heated RV ovens—and will instead give you a perfectly cooked dessert every single time.

2. Crème Brûlée

Crème brûlée is one of those fancy desserts that nobody ever imagines making for themselves. Typically, it’s reserved for fancy restaurants and cruises, and most people are perfectly okay with that. However, this doesn’t have to be the case.

In fact, this Instant Pot recipe makes the traditionally “fancy” dessert easy enough to serve up during a camping trip, and we highly recommend doing just that.

3. Apple crisp

Another perfect fall recipe, this Instant Pot apple crisp is not only delicious but also incredibly easy to make.

Better yet, you probably already have the ingredients on hand. This means that with a bit of chopping and a short wait, you can have a nice hot dessert ready to be enjoyed around the campfire.

4. Oreo Cheesecake

One of the most popular desserts to make in the Instant Pot is cheesecake. However, while cheesecake is delicious, we feel something a little more elaborate is in order when it comes to vacation desserts.

That’s why this Oreo cheesecake is the perfect option. It’s still that yummy Instant Pot cheesecake we’ve all heard about, but much richer and even more delicious.

5. Pumpkin Pie

Planning to make a holiday meal in your RV? Juggling everything so that the meal is done on time in such a tiny space can be challenging to say the least. After all, you can only fit so much in your RV oven and on the stovetop.

This is where Instant Pot desserts can help out. This pumpkin pie recipe is perfect for any holiday meal and won’t take up valuable oven space.

6. Caramel Dip

Caramel dip is an amazing dessert because it’s so versatile. Seriously, caramel is good on everything, and by whipping up a quick batch of this dip in your Instant Pot, you can have caramel sundaes, caramel apple dip, caramel-dipped marshmallows, and more.

Best of all, this is a “set it and forget it” kind of recipe, making it much easier than the stovetop versions out there.

7. Brownies

Brownies are one of the best classic desserts. They can be found on almost every party and potluck table, and there’s a reason why they’re so popular.

Brownies deliver that perfect fudgy experience that so many of us crave. This Instant Pot brownie recipe is especially tasty and easy to make.

8. Monkey Bread

Sticky, gooey monkey bread is good as both a dessert and breakfast food. It’s fun to pull apart and even more fun to eat. While monkey bread can be made in the RV oven or with a Dutch oven, we highly recommend using this Instant Pot recipe instead.

We love that this recipe uses yeast dinner rolls, which gives the dessert a unique texture. However, it is important to keep in mind that you’ll need to let the rolls rise overnight.

9. Rice Pudding

Last but not least, we couldn’t leave rice pudding off the list. While it might not be the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of dessert, there’s no denying the fact that this sweet comfort food is wonderful.

It’s good no matter what time of day it is, and it can be eaten either hot or cold. That’s why we highly recommend trying this recipe.
