2. The Mark Twain House and Museum – Hartford, CT
Mark Twain spent some of his most productive years at his Victorian Gothic mansion in Hartford, Connecticut. It was here that he wrote The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court among other classics.
Take a tour of the house and marvel at the Tiffany designed walls and ceiling, along with various artifacts including the billiard table where Twain penned his great works.
A visit to this much loved home will undoubtably explain why Twain wrote, “To us, our house… had a heart, and a soul, and eyes to see us with.”
