RV living often times means giving up a few items that you found integral back in your sticks and bricks home. Many of our readers comment about the lack of an RV coffee table in particular as something they miss.
Given that most areas of an RV wear several hats and space is always limited it tends to be unrealistic to include one. But, would that change if the furniture was customized to keep a slim profile for the RV while also retaining some multi-use properties?
In this case, we are talking about a lift top RV coffee table we saw while being given a tour of a friend’s new RV. The lack of a coffee table was too much for them and they had to find a solution.
Lift Top RV Coffee Table Photos
They found their solution for their RV coffee table needs at CampingWorld.com. The specially designed Swing-Up Coffee Table (available in Oak and darker Walnut color variations) keeps a slim profile compared to others like this that are much larger and heavier.
This unit is only 20” wide by 36” long making it simple enough to add to the interior of most RVs. It also is lightweight at 64lbs which is around half of what many comparable tables weigh in at making it easier to move about the RV. The RV coffee tabletop can raise from its close position at 18” to almost 28” and it is surprisingly easy to open.
The coffee table makes a handy traditional table for in front of the couch and quickly converts into a workspace for projects, a place for a laptop, or even a spot to share a meal. The reviews from others who own this RV coffee table are very positive which is uncommon for furniture in general. But, we agree with the positive reviews as this is one of the more clever and well-built pieces of RV furniture we have seen at this price point.
Build a custom RV coffee table
If you consider yourself a furniture maker or handyman, you may consider purchasing a Coffee Table Top Lift Mechanism and creating a custom RV coffee table of your own. If you have an existing coffee table that is balanced properly this could be a painless RV mod.
Alternatively, if you don’t need the swing-up functionality you can always go with a space-saving folding coffee table.
