This sleek tow-behind camper weighs in at a remarkably light 300 pounds. Nearly any vehicle can haul it – including a full-sized motorcycle.

Imagine being able to take cold beers and a comfy place to sleep wherever your heart roams – without any of the frustration of configuring tent poles or figuring out complicated instructions.

The best part about the ScarabRV pop up tent trailer is that there’s no set-up hassles. With the push of a button the ScarabRV uses a heavy-duty RV slide out drive unit to open and close the attached tent.

The tent also self-inflates with an on-board 12-volt air pump.

As long as your ScarabRV remote control has batteries you’re ready to camp in under a minute. Just see for yourself:

The ScarabRV ultralight pop up tent trailer was designed by adventure travel enthusiasts Mark and Mary Setzer.

Using their backgrounds in ultralight craft, this inventive couple engineered the trailer with gel composite materials for durability and towing ease. The low center of gravity makes it perfect for motorcycles.

“Now our travels combine all the conveniences we could ask for; an ultralight towable recreational vehicle that we can pull behind our cruising motorcycle or attach to the back of virtually any sub-compact car with little indication of anything being in tow. The independent suspension, the extremely low weight and the finely tuned low center of gravity make the ScarabRV a pleasure to take along.” — Mark & Mary Setzer

Options include interior carpeting and LED lighting. You can also get a 15 watt solar charging system and multiple 12 volt accessory or USB outlets to keep your beer cooler chilled and your mobile devices charged.

What more can you ask for in an ultralight pop up tent trailer?

Almost ready for prime time.

The only problem with the ScarabRV pop up tent trailer? It’s not yet in production.

This experimental little towable RV is ready to go but the Setzers are seeking investor funding to make sure it’s done right.

Earlier this year they had a ScarabRV IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign that didn’t get any traction or come close to gathering the $350,000 the Setzer’s wanted to kick off production.

Based on the widespread media acclaim the ScarabRV tent trailer is getting , it seems it’s only a matter of time before you see it in RV stores around the country.
