Road Shower: Solar Heated, Pressurized Water on Top of Your Car

This post was updated on March 15th, 2024

Keeping clean on the road just got easier. The Road Shower is a compact, but convenient way to heat up water for camping via the sun — even while traveling. The five gallon channel mounts to a roof rack on your vehicle and heats up water for showering or cleaning off dishes and gear with a high pressure jet sprayer.

The Road Shower is easily mounted to the roof rack of your vehicle.

The shower is made of powder coated aluminum and delivers 18 PSI of water. The mounting carriage locks onto your cargo rack with 1/2 inch nuts. The hose is a 5/8 inch food grade hose that is actually used in the brewing industry. The end of the hose has a controlled, adjustable sprayer.

You can check the water level using the hose. Open the cap and hold the hose nozzle above the top of the shower, and pull the trigger. The water inside the shower will fill the clear hose and show you the water level.

The Road Shower can also be used for cleaning gear and dishes.

Of course, it’s beneficial to be camping in an area that has a good amount of sun. On cloudy days if the Road Shower doesn’t get hot, the water can still be used for drinking purposes.

Simply fill using a hose or another water container.

The Road Shower costs $299.95 and can be ordered from the Road Shower online shop or from the Cabelas website.
