This post was updated on March 15th, 2024

To camp in the backcountry areas at Rocky Mountain National Park, you’ll need a permit. If you wait until summer to get one, you’re going to be too late.

How to Reserve a Camping Permit At Rocky Mountain National Park

While you can reserve the permit online, you’re going to need to pick it up in person, either at the Headquarters Backcountry Wilderness Office or the Kawuneeche Visitor Center. You may also reserve permits in person at the two facilities.
