7 Creative IKEA Hacks For Your RV

IKEA hacks are certainly popular for apartment dwellers, but what about RVers? Many of IKEA’s nifty products can work perfectly for the smaller (and sometimes awkward) spaces in a camper or trailer.

IKEA has even hacked their own blue shopping bag to serve as a picnic blanket.

An IKEA hack is taking an IKEA product and using it for more than its intended purpose. RVers know that a useful item that can pull multiple duty is a gift to have on the road.

Check out these 7 products from IKEA that can make your camping life easier. The best thing? They won’t break the bank!

1. TILLSLUTA Dry Food Jars

IKEA
TILLSLUTA Dry Food Jars can hold both pasta and RV tools.

The TILLSLUTA dry good jar series comes in various sizes and is designed to fit into the SEKTION kitchen cabinet series from IKEA. However, these handy containers with clear lids can also be used in RV and camper drawers and cabinets to store everything from pasta to small tools.

2. LED Lights

IKEA
The SPÖKA nightlight changes colors and runs on batteries.

IKEA has a wide range of LED lights that can be plugged into a 120V outlet or run on batteries. Nightlights like the SPÖKA animal light can be used for mood lighting or for making a small child feel more safe in the wilderness.

3. Solar Lights

IKEA
The thin and lightweight SOLVINDEN light can be used on RV countertops.

Along with LED lights, IKEA also has some fun solar lights. The SOLVINDEN series of solar lights takes up very little space and can be used indoors or out.

4. BJÄRNUM Folding Hook

IKEA
The BJÄRNUM clothing hook folds up into itself.

The handy aluminum folding hook can be screwed into any wall and pulled down to hold everything from jackets to extension cords. Each package comes with three hooks and takes up very little space on a wall.

5. SKUBB Boxes

IKEA
IKEA’s SKUBB boxes break down for easy storage.

The handy SKUBB series of storage boxes come in both black and white and include a handle for easy grabbing. They can be used for clothing, accessories, extra towels, or those small items that tend to wander away.

6. SORTERA Recycling Bin

IKEA
The SORTERA recycling bins can double as trash cans or storage containers.

The SORTERA bin is primarily used as a bin for recyclable materials, but the 16-gallon version is a slim 15 1/4 inches wide, helping it fit into tighter areas. It also has a nice lid for keeping trash smells down.

7. UPPHETTA Coffee/Tea Maker
