This Unique Camper Trailer Takes After The Sydney Opera House in Australia

This post was updated on March 15th, 2024

The brilliant design for it was actually inspired when the artist had been peeling an orange.

Whether you’ve been to Sydney, Australia, or you’ve just seen photos of the city’s famous Opera House, you may know it’s one unique piece of architecture:

The opera house has an impressive look, and there’s no surprise a luxurious camper trailer took after it. Check it out:

The Opera is lightweight, yet still offers all of the same cozy amenities without having to haul around a heavy fifth-wheel.

Once you reach your destination, it’s pretty easy to set up. The camper is unhitched, while the top folds open to create a back deck, and the sailcloth tent pops open smoothly.

Designed by Netherlands-based Your Suite in Nature (YSIN), the light trailer can easily be towed by smaller vehicles, so having a large truck or SUV isn’t necessary.

Inside, you’ll find a gorgeous, spacious interior:

The compact trailer expands into a cozy tent complete with a functioning kitchen, bathroom and exterior shower.

The Opera comes with two beds that can be transformed into one, as well as a fridge, small kitchen, private ceramic toilet, two sinks, LED lighting, a wine rack (a necessity) and plenty of storage space.

There’s a 30 liter (about 8 gallon) water tank and water pump, as well as a boiler that supplies warm water to the outdoor kitchen and the exterior shower.

A feature you’ll fall in love with: the beds can be adjusted to become reclining seats.

This new level of comfort along with Netflix could make for one fantastic evening.

Although sad to say, the Opera campers are only available in Europe and Australia at the moment, for roughly $36,152 USD.

If you’re still in love with the design though, check out the similar VAUDE Opera Tents, or the Sylvansport GO, which are available here in the US:

What do you think? Should they bring The Opera to the US?
