You never know what you’ll find looking through online classifieds. We recently came across this adorably small 1960 Aristocrat Lil Loafer trailer on Craigslist that has been completely refurbished with original appliances and cabinetry.
The vintage trailer only measures about 12 feet long and is in excellent condition for being over 50 years old. The owner says the interior wood surfaces were all refinished with amber shellac or fresh paint and the entire exterior was cleaned and polished.
The trailer was updated with new vinyl tile flooring installed on a new solid subfloor. They also added a new 12V deep charge marine battery, a 10-gallon freshwater tank and pump, shore water hookup and plumbing, two 5-gallon propane tanks, regulators, and a gas line to the stove.
The kitchenette includes a refurbished cooktop and icebox, as well as a sink, small counter, and quilted aluminum backsplash. The owner also added some extra insulation around the icebox.
The trailer even has a bathroom beside the kitchen. It doesn’t have a whole lot of elbow room, but it is equipped with a brand new composting toilet.
The camper also has a pull-out gaucho bed that sleeps one or two people and pets. During the day, the bed can easily be converted back into a comfy sofa.
Though small, the trailer has a few decent-sized closets for storage. The owner also installed new shelving above the windows in the front and back with a valance and new blinds.
The Lil Loafer is currently for sale on Craigslist for $11,500 in Indianola, just outside of Seattle on the Kitsap Peninsula. You can see the ad here.
The toilet is on a raised platform because there is a blackwater tank underneath it.
The bathroom is puzzling. The toilet is on a raised platform ?
THIS IS SO DARLING AND IN WONDERFUL CONDITION. I WAS ACTUALLY SHOCKED TO SEE THE STATUS OF IT AND TO BE 1960. IF IT WAS MINE PROBABLY WOULD NEVER THINK OF SELLING IT. I DID E-MAIL TO MY BEST FRIEND AS HE AS BEEN WANTING A VERY SMALL TRAILER FOR HIMSELF THAT HIS SMALL TRUCK WOULD PULL.
