Great Travel Trailers For The New Camping Season

This post was updated on February 19th, 2021

As winter hits and we are all dreaming of spring, it might be time to start looking for a brand new travel trailer. Most RV retailers are already bringing in new travel trailers for the new camping season, and I am loving some of the new designs.

Coleman Campers

As always, Coleman travel trailers are one of the most reputable brands in the RV industry. Having been in the camping business for over a century, they are the ultimate go-to when shopping for any camping gear.

In the 1960s, Coleman began making pop-up tent trailers. Since then, the Coleman name has become a mainstay in the RV industry. Having owned a Coleman camper myself, I can truly say that their campers are great quality for a reasonable price. Here we take a look at a couple of the newest Coleman travel trailers on the market.

The Coleman Lantern Series LT 17 F

This is a smaller camper that would be easy to haul and park. At just under 22 feet long and weighing in at 3,370 lbs., this trailer is easy to tow and a perfect camper for a small family or a solo camper.

The Coleman Lantern LT 17FQ

This travel trailer is a budget-friendly option that has everything you need. It features a queen bed, bunks for the kids, a small kitchen with a microwave, a fridge, a two-burner stove, and a sink. And, of course, at least for me and my crew, it also has the ultimate necessity, a bathroom and a shower.

The Coleman Lantern 263 BH

This travel trailer is a bit long, coming in just at 30 feet and significantly heavier, weighing right at 6,000 lbs. So, you may need a bigger truck when hauling this RV. However, it definitely has a bit more breathing room than the previous Coleman, having a slide-out in the living area. Having all of the amenities of the Lantern LT 17 FQ, this Coleman is bigger and has an overall sleeker design and prettier interior.

The Coleman Lantern 263BH

The 263BH has a nice sized kitchen, with more counter space, which I love. This model boasts a couch that doubles as a bed, and an actual bedroom for the queen sleeper. It still has the bunks and small bathroom, which is practically a necessity if you are traveling with kids.

Jayco Travel Trailers

Jayco is another very well known and trusted brand that has been building campers since the 1960s. I have always loved the design of their travel trailers, so I really wanted to see some of their newest inventory.

The Jayco Hummingbird

I’m not going to lie, as soon as I saw the name of this trailer I wanted to see the design. I was not disappointed. This trailer would be the perfect camper to haul.

It is fairly small, which is what makes it so great. You could easily haul it almost anywhere. Having a trailer like this would really take out so many limitations that come with carrying a bigger camper.

The 2020 Jayco Hummingbird

There are several different sizing options here, ranging from 13 to 20 feet in length, and weighing anywhere from 1,545-3,015 lbs. The Jayco Hummingbird is the perfect couple’s getaway caravan. There are five different models of Hummingbird travel trailers.

The smallest model of the Jayco Travel Trailers is the Hummingbird 10RK. It has a tiny kitchen with a mini-fridge, microwave, and a sink. With a queen sleeper and minimal storage, this model is as bare-bones as you get. The other models, however, boast larger storage space and bathrooms. With the Jayco Hummingbird, you have several choices depending on your needs.

The Jayco Jay Feather

Jay Feather travel trailers are the perfect go-to for a family. These campers range in weight from 3,195 -6,425 lbs., depending on which model you get. Most of the Jayco Feathers are over 30 feet long and have several different floor plans that would fit all of a family’s camping needs.

The options for these models are endless. You can get them with bunk beds, queen beds, slide-outs, bigger kitchens, you name it. The versatility of these models makes it great for those traveling with company and gives everyone plenty of space. The bathroom has it’s own entry/exit door, which really helps if you are traveling with others.

These travel trailers are just a very few examples of the many fantastic campers out there. Every one of these models has different amenities and options to make the camper buying experience a stress-free one. With so many options and choices, you could easily find a camper that’s just right for you.
