You’ve probably been to some not-so-nice RV parks in your adventures. Sometimes that’s just the reality of travel. But every once in a while, you luck into an RV resort that lives up to its name.
I spent one full week in Vegas, and while I’m not a fan of sweating through the desert days, I’d go back just to stay at the Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort one more time.
I’ve been to a few dozen RV parks in my past month of full-timing, but not one has been anywhere near as clean, inexpensive, and luxurious as this one.
Note: My husband and I stay exclusively at Passport America sites. It keeps our travel expenses low, plus it’s like having a trustworthy friend’s stamp of approval before driving in.
Why I Had a Great Time at the Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort
Las Vegas is pure desert with a few casinos mixed in. But the two pools and large hot tub here will quickly make the heat and crowds disappear.
Security is top notch. Two security guards stand duty 24 hours a day. One guards the front gate while the other patrols the park.
You can roll in at 2 am and there will be someone there to greet you. Large check-in parking spots make a good first impression, too.
The staff at the Oasis is friendly and helpful, and Cindy even remembered my name every time I walked into the main building. This is truly saying something considering the park offers 1,000 RV spots. Yes, a thousand.
Oasis can fit all types of rigs and they offer several categories of sites to choose from.
The basic site includes a back-in spot with full hook ups. Higher-priced options include pull-thrus, picnic tables, grass, and shade.
The basic site was fine for us, but you might want to upgrade if you plan to spend a lot of time outside. With Passport America, we paid only $20.50 a night.
Non-discounted prices range anywhere from $42-$68.
And if you want to be outside, head to one of the cabanas around the pool.
Regardless of the outside air temperature, the Oasis pools always stay cool. In fact, it was a little too cold for me, even during the heat of the day! (I’m a wimp).
So if you’re worried about the desert heat, these pools will cool you right off. There are plenty of tables and chairs to relax in during the day, and it wasn’t ever that crowded that I couldn’t find a spot.
One of the pools is ‘Adults Only’ if you’re looking to get away from the kids for a while.
Showers Sealed the Deal
So now that you’re hooked up to your spot, and you’ve spent the day relaxing at the pool sipping on pina coladas from the bar, it’s time to shower.
This is the moment of truth for any RV park. I have long hair that takes “forever” to wash. If I shower in our Class C, my showers always end with my husband asking why I felt the need to use all of the hot water.
Long, hot showers are one thing I won’t give up.
So I walked over to one of the shower buildings with my fingers crossed.
I was happily surprised at what I found.
Each bathroom is individual, which means no thin shower curtain separating you from the rest of the bathroom.
Your door locks behinds you and you’ll have everything you need—even a place to hang up your towel. The walls are tile, and not the basic, white 4″ x 4″ ceramic tiles.
These showers were built for the high-maintenance RV traveler like me.
Conclusion
Other amenities at Oasis include a convenience store, café, ballroom, USPS, and WiFi access (for a fee, but there is a Starbucks within walking distance).
Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort has everything you’ve ever wanted in an upscale RV park. And if you use your Passport America membership, you’ll really be making out well.
Although it’s a little off the Strip (about a $20 cab ride) you can still find casinos on every corner just outside the gate.
