Ride & Radiators: Source Engineering Is Still Innovating

Sponsored by Source Engineering Incorporated

Since stepping in over a decade ago to rescue RV owners with a serious trailing arm issue on the Roadmaster chassis favored by Monaco and other brands at the time, Source Engineering Incorporated has continued to innovate and provide great products for motorhome owners.

Scott Zimmer, a long time motorhome chassis engineer with additional disciplines in cooling and fuel efficiency, has been in the RV Industry for over 35 years. Jim Walls, during the same number of years in the RV business, has amassed more connections than LAX.

If it exists, Jim can find it for you, and knows exactly who to get it from and who the expert is. Together, Scott and Jim have taken the seeds from their coach-saving trailing arm venture and have turned it into an innovative enterprise geared towards the thousands of high-quality coaches on the road today.

SEI’s innovative trailing arm virtually eliminated the OEM stress points

Over 331,000 Class A motorhomes have been built in the last twenty years. With the consolidation and rebranding that has occurred during that time, there are thousands of high-quality orphaned motor coaches out there with no warranty or brand security.

As components age and technology improves, many of these coaches are now ready for repairs or upgrades to the chassis or engine. Source Engineering Incorporated specializes in these types of upgrades for RV chassis past and present.

Of course, the infamous trailing arm upgrade for the Roadmaster chassis is still available. You’ll also find high-quality radiator upgrades and high-performance charge-air coolers. High-performance fan blades round out the cooling trifecta offered by Source Engineering.

8-Bag Ride Enhancment Kit

Ride Quality is important as well, making the 4-Bag and 8-Bag Ride Enhancement Kits extremely popular. These custom-designed ride enhancement kits give you the fabulous ride quality expected on all big coaches but were often only offered on the high-end models.

Some have simply worn out their existing components after a decade or more of use and need replacement. That same engineering is embraced by the Freightliner XC Ride Enhancement Kit, exclusively engineered by SEI to improve the handling on 2004-2015 Freightliner XC chassis.

Every coach with an airbag suspension, regardless of age, can benefit from SEI’s Comfort Control Valves. These valves install near each airbag and control the release of air to prevent body roll and porpoising. Made in the USA, these valves control the airflow in one direction, while letting the air pass unrestricted in the other. The result is the smooth comfortable ride you expected when you first bought your coach.
