Traveling in an RV is great, but it also makes holding down a traditional job hard. Thankfully, there are tons of ways to make quick money from your RV, even without any special skills. With a little bit of work, you can start making money while still having the freedom to travel.

Let’s take a look at 10 ways you can make quick money from your RV.

1. Rent your RV

One of the best ways to make quick money from your RV is by renting it out. Services like Outdoorsy and RVshare make it super easy to rent out your RV. Simply create a listing and soon you’ll be making money from people renting out your RV.

Depending on your RV, you could make as much as $60,000 a year from renting it out! Alternatively, you can convert your RV into a stationary tiny home and rent it on services like Airbnb. Of course, this prevents you from being able to use the RV, so it’s best to do this if your RV doesn’t travel much.

2. Start an RV-based business

Another great way to make quick money from your RV is to start an RV-based business.

You could turn your RV into a food truck and serve hot food at events and campgrounds. Or, you could sell products like crafts out of your RV. With a bit of creativity (and sometimes a bit of elbow grease), the possibilities are nearly endless.

3. Become a mobile RV mechanic or technician

Are you the handy type? Do you know how to fix up an engine or repair a damaged RV? Then you should consider becoming a mobile RV mechanic or technician.

This can be a great way to make quick money, but be aware that you’ll typically need to be certified first. There are several ways to do this, but the most popular options are through the National RV Training Academy and the RV Technical Institute.

Training can be completed in as few as 90 days using self-paced online classes. Once you’re certified, you’ll be able to offer RV repair and maintenance services, wherever you may be.

4. Work seasonal jobs

A variety of seasonal jobs are available for RVers looking for a way to make quick money.

One of the most popular programs was Amazon CamperForce. You might have heard this program was discontinued, and while that is true, you don’t need to despair. CamperForce was simply folded into Amazon’s usual hiring process, and seasonal jobs are still available for RVers.

Other examples of seasonal jobs for RVers include:

  • Christmas tree lots
  • Firework stands
  • Retail around the holidays
  • Special events, such as conferences and fairs
  • National parks, especially during peak seasons
  • Farm work, particularly harvesting
  • Theme parks, especially during summer

Temp agencies and apps like GigSmart are a great way to find these positions. You can also reach out directly, which is especially recommended for national parks jobs.

5. Work online

There are tons of ways to make quick money from your RV by working online.

One popular option is writing and blogging. You can either start your own blog or pitch articles to other sites and blogs. Another great RV job is working as a virtual assistant or VA. VAs are sort of like digital secretaries, who do everything from scheduling appointments to managing emails and calls.

Other great online jobs for RVers include:

  • Graphic design
  • Bookkeeping
  • Social media management
  • Transcription

The best places to find these sorts of jobs are generally on platforms like Upwork and Fivver.

6. Offer RV cleaning services

Lots of people have dirty RVs they don’t want to clean, so why not take advantage and provide RV cleaning services?

This is a great way to make quick money from your RV because it requires very little startup costs. Some cleaning supplies, gloves, and a hose (if you’re doing exteriors) are all you’ll need. Even better, it’s easy to find potential customers at RV parks and other places RVers gather.

7. Host workshops or classes out of your RV

Do you know a special skill like a second language or how to repair an RV? Then giving workshops and classes out of your RV could be an amazing way to make quick money.

If you want to teach something physical, like a craft, you can host the class physically in your RV or in the area just outside. For other things such as languages, you can teach online using services like Teachable.

8. Sell advertising space on your RV

Out of all the ways to make quick money from your RV, selling ad space might be the easiest. Once the advertisement is on there, you’re ready to make money by just driving around!

This service is often referred to as car wrap advertising, and numerous companies offer it. One of the most popular is CarVertise

Thanks to the size of RVs compared to normal cars, selling ad space can be surprisingly lucrative. You could earn $1,000 or more per ad campaign.

9. Offer pet sitting and walking services

Do you love animals? Then you might consider offering pet sitting and walking services to make quick money.

This is a great option because it requires no special experience or skills. Simply put up some flyers or post on a service like PetBacker and wait for people to respond. Once you get some bites, you’ll be able to spend all day with animals and get paid for it!

10. Work housesitting gigs

RV life is great, but sometimes, we all miss the comforts of a traditional home. So, why not enjoy those comforts and get paid for it?

Housesitting lets you do just that. Simply search on services like Trusted Housesitters and you’ll be able to find opportunities all around the country. Plus, thanks to your RV, you can go wherever the opportunities are, so you’ll have no trouble finding gigs.
