Classy Wine Glass Lamps Made From Vellum Or Tracing Paper

This post was updated on March 15th, 2024

You’ll never look at a wine glass the same way again.

This trendy and dead-simple project will add a soft glow to your camper (or any other space for that matter).

Just plop in a cheap tealight candle (or the battery operated kind) inside a wine glass, and cover with your favorite mini lampshade.

How to Make a Wine Glass Lamp Shade

To make your own lampshade, pick up some white (or colored) sheets of parchment paper or vellum. You can find vellum at a few different places, but a speciality store like this one might be your best bet. Using this template, trace and cut out the pattern on the vellum or parchment using a pair of scissors. This site has a detailed tutorial for making your own wine glass lampshades.

The great thing about these wine glass lamps is that you can easily make your own, or simply buy a few designs if you come across some you like. Experiment with different types of paper (vellum seems to work the best, but can be expensive) and colors to create the perfect ambiance!
