This post was updated on March 15th, 2024

Are you stuck at home wondering if you should head out for a trip this fall? Camping and RVing can be quite the experience this time of year! Here are 10 reasons in particular why you should head out for an adventure this season:

1. You can admire fall foliage everywhere and it’s amazingly photogenic.

Don’t forget to bring a charged camera – there are some stunning vibrant hues all over the place! The Foliage Network provides helpful information on the best way to view colorful foliage.

2. There are less people out and about.

With everyone back to work or school, you’ll certainly have a much more private, quiet and tranquil stay. It will just be you, your friends, and the great outdoors!

3.  It’s way cooler outside, which can be vastly refreshing if you love to go hiking.

Besides, you’ll get to see all of those gorgeous fall colors along the way. If you happen to be in the Denver area, here’s a guide to fabulous dog-friendly hikes.

4. In addition – there’s less bugs.

You still may want to spray yourself with repellent to prevent annoying bites, but cooler air often means less insects that you won’t have to swat away.

5. Gas prices are generally lower.

With less people out and about, the prices to fill your tank typically drop this time of year so you won’t have to shell as much out for your trip.

6. A campfire during the fall can be so cozy and inviting, and much more comfortable than one during the hot summer!

And warm roasted s’mores taste so much better during this time of year too.

7. Going on a trip can make your entire Halloween season ten times more fun.

There aren’t many things that are more exciting than listening to some thrilling ghost stories by the campfire. Plus, if you’re going with the whole family you can plan to make a stop by the local pumpkin patch or go apple picking to complete the fall experience.

8. …and don’t forget about football season.

Tailgating is always a good idea.

9. The sky at night will surely take your breath away.

With days getting shorter in the fall, more stars become visible earlier and you’ll have a greater chance at seeing them shining brightly in the sky.

10. There are some awesome new RV models that come out this season!

RV Trader recently released their Fall 2016 New Model Guide featuring Class A, Class B, Class C, Toy Hauler and Fifth Wheel RVs from leading manufacturers like Jayco, Leisure Travel, Newmar and even Winnebago! Have you seen it yet??
