We show off a lot of remodeling ideas on RV’s, that much is true. Time and time again we see incredible interior remodels with minimal exterior work aside from minor repairs and a fresh wax. The “Dover Guppy” is the exception to the rule. It did indeed receive an interior RV remodel but the real charm from this Toyota Coachman is the exterior. A custom painted exterior with a likeness to trans-am style paint job. Designed both inside and out to express the personality of its owner, who is originally from California. John, who was transplanted to Dover, Delaware in the pursuit of love with his wife and his young daughter, has always had an eye for smaller motorhomes.
The motivation behind his purchase was simple: music and outdoor festivals. True to his upbringing in northern California, where live music and performances can be found leaving the subway, he didn’t find the same type of access to music in Dover, DE. The Toyota Coachman was a means to an end. John purchased it with the intention of getting the RV remodeled for many road trips and overnight music festivals.
As you can see in the photos below, the interior and exterior scream “artistic creativity”. High marks for uniqueness wouldn’t you say?

From the floors, to cabinets, to couch, to bathroom, nearly everything on the aging Toyota Coachmen was updated in some way. Though the exterior color change steals show.
One of our personal favorites was the addition of the child restraint modification John made to the overhead bed to keep his young daughter from injury after awaking from a nap.
