DIY RV Kitchen Drawer Organizers for $10 – Just a Little Wood and Glue

What is about drawers that breed disorganization? We just keep loading them up with stuff until they spill over with tongs, spatulas, batteries, and every other thing under the sun. Out of desperations, we have tried the store bought drawer organizers but they never seem to fit right and waste valuable space.  So, while meandering around the internet as I often do, I stumbled onto a low cost way to get some order restored to the drawers in our RV. If you want it done right, you must always do-it-yourself. So, after borrowing this concept from KevinandAmanda.com, we set out to make our own RV kitchen drawer organizers.

Kevin and Amanda show how off how simple it is to take a few pieces of 1/4” craft wood and turn it into custom made RV kitchen drawer organizers. Yes, they fit perfectly. Once you source the materials needed, this project should only take a few hours.

We did just as they recommended and organized everything we wanted by starting with an empty drawer and carefully putting things in like doing a puzzle. Amanda used Jenga Blocks (Board Game) to act as dividers while sorting out the layout. We ended up using kabob skewers as it was all we had in the RV.

Once you get the layout right, then you need to measure to figure out how much wood you should purchase for the RV kitchen drawer organizers. Be sure to get not only length but also width measurements to ensure your dividers are tall enough. Then head to your local hardware store and grab some hobby or craft wood that works for you. Keep in mind that depending on your drawer size this may require cutting not only for length but also for width. Be sure to have some kind of saw handy. Some home improvement stores will cut the board for you if you have your measurements ready.

Kevin and Amanda used Loctite Clear Power Grab adhesive for their dividers, but we ended up using epoxy because we already had some from a previous project. We glued only the dividers together in case we wanted to change the dividers out with ease in the future.
