RV Ideas: Low Cost iPhone Speaker (Or Any Smartphone) Tip

For reference I use the word smartphone and iPhone interchangeably. Much like Xerox and Kleenex it has become synonymous with the all in one mobile device. This alone is telling of the times we live in.

With the popularity of smartphones across all ages and demographics it has without a doubt changed whats possible in a handheld contraption. At times we find ourselves disappointed when our devices can only do the job of what use to take 35 devices instead of 36. One of those disappointing features is the lack of a quality iPhone speaker for playing music. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of accessories that will happily take your hard earned dollars in exchange for improving the sound profile of your iPhone speaker.

Fortunately, science prevails and has given us a simple no cost option to remedy this little engineering shortfall. Simply place your smartphone in a glass after starting up your favorite tune. Sit back and relax as the melody is amplified. If your anything like others we have shown this idea to your first reaction will be confusion, followed by a sense of failure that you never thought of it. When placed on a hard surface it offers some of the time tested acoustic principles applied in almost every amphitheater built in the world since the famous Epidaurus Theater in Greece.

The assumption is you have a glass and a hard surface to setyour iphone speaker glass. If for some reason you don’t, you may consider passing on this idea and just purchasing an aftermarket iPhone speaker accessory for your smartphone instead.
