5 Best Teardrop Trailers In 2021

The teardrop trailer is an extremely accessible camper due to its streamlined, compact nature. These lightweight campers have been growing in popularity as sleek, new designs are churned out and more people are looking for affordable ways to live on the road.

Each year, companies find new ways to improve their teardrop trailers, so we’ve rounded up the five best teardrop trailers for 2021.

1. NuCamp TAB 400 Teardrop Trailer

The company NuCamp has debuted changes for not just the 2021 Tab 400 teardrop camper but also the 2021 TAG and TAB 320 teardrop trailers as well. The TAB 400 is a luxury teardrop trailer in that it has much more space than NuCamp’s other models or other classic teardrop trailers.

The queen-size sleeping area sleeps three with a full or split bed design making it perfect for a small family to travel in. The interior also features a wet bath with fold-down sink, a furnished kitchen, a dinette area that can convert into a second sleeping area, and lots of storage.

The 2021 model has improved storage, better quality materials, upgraded entertainment including Bluetooth capability, better heating and cooling systems, and a modified chassis that makes it easier for SUVs to tow.

2. Hütte Hut Teardrop Trailer

The sleek, modern design of the Hütte Hut teardrop trailer makes it a desirable addition to the family looking to recreate—with style. Called “a high-design guest cottage” by Sunset Magazine, the interior and exterior watertight wooden surfaces do make this seem less like rugged living and more like a vacation.

Using premium materials, modernist design values, and proprietary boutique manufacturing methods, Hütte Hut has created a teardrop trailer for the new generation.

The trailer itself is a minimal design meaning that it comes with just the necessities: a multi-posture convertible cushion, a naturally water repellent cotton canvas canopy, and an exterior AC 110 Shore Power inlet. But this basic design means more for you to play around with in making it your own! The size fits two people comfortably, or three people with less elbow room.

3. Liberty Outdoors Little Guy Max Teardrop Trailer

The Liberty Outdoors Little Guy teardrop trailer has all the amenities of a trailer twice its size. But the aluminum frame keeps the trailer lightweight and towable by most vehicles while your options for space depend on whether you get the Little Guy Max, Little Guy Rover, or Little Guy MiniMax.

The Max comfortably sleeps three between the queen-sized bed and the dinette which can convert to another bed. The Max certainly holds more than most teardrop trailers, including a wet bath, closet, pantry, fridge, stove, and sink.

This model is especially great for those with families who love entertainment. There are two 24” TVs in this model, one for watching while in bed and one towards the front so others can watch something else. Keep the entertainment going outside with outdoor speakers and an exterior TV mount.

4. inTech Luna Teardrop Trailer

The inTech Luna Teardrop Trailer is a refined upgrade on the teardrop trailers of yore. With a refined interior and lush materials and finishes, the Luna feels like staying in a hotel room on the road.

InTech’s signature front cap allows for maximized interior space as well as a panoramic windshield. At night, the interior comfortably sleeps two.

During the day, fold the bed away and you can seat up to four adults. With amenities like a built-in 32” television, DVD player, Bluetooth, and AC unit, this trailer feels like a home away from home.

The Luna comes in three packages for your traveling needs: the Base Package; the Rover which includes off-road tires, roof rack, and sporty graphics; and the Platinum which has elegant graphics and stylish fenders and bumper. The galley holds all you would expect in a modern kitchen and the Luna’s all-aluminum frame keeps it lightweight and tough.

5. Timberleaf Pika Teardrop Trailer

If you want a teardrop trailer that’s both practical and photogenic, look no further than the Timberleaf Pika Teardrop. Available in fun colors including red, purple, blue, and yellow, the Pika is a sleek, modern, and beautiful design that’s also highly functioning.

A lighter, more compact model than Timberleaf’s Classic model (54-inch by 96-inch frame), the Pika is built to traverse rough and rocky terrain. The small size and weight of the Pika (1,025 pounds) make it towable by most cars, a nice option for those without SUVs.

The Pika can be equipped with Timberleaf’s Offroad Package which features Timbren Axleless suspension with a 4” lift, BFG All-Terrain tires, electric brakes, rock armor, and Max Coupler articulating hitch—perfect for the true adventurer.

For those getting less off-road, there’s the All-Road package featuring Timbren Axleless suspension with electric breaks, 30×9.5r15 tires on aluminum mod-style wheels, and smooth aluminum round fenders.

The interior of the Pika fits a double size mattress to comfortably sleep two. Storage comes in the form of stretch-netting on either side of the mattress and one above the foot of the bed.

Two USB ports and GFI outlets are also available. Inside has a warm, homey feeling to it, owing to the many lights inside: two LED reading lights above the bed and an LED dome lamp over the foot of the bed.

To avoid that claustrophobic feeling so many teardrop trailers have, the Pika has a large overhead skylight, two sliding windows, and two doors with sliding windows, giving you beautiful views into the outdoors.

The galley of the Pika has retro-inspired laminated countertops as well as four USB ports, a 12v accessory port, and a GFI outlet. You have the option of completing your galley kitchen with products from Timberleaf partner, Domestic.
