4. Katmai
Katmai National Park has the world’s highest concentration of brown bears. The National Park Service estimates 2,200 brown bears live in the park.
Scientists come to Katmai to study brown bears, and tourists come to watch the action, too.
So many brown bears, it looks like a zoo exhibit!
Bears aren’t spread evenly throughout the park, though. And in some areas, like the popular Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes, you’ll only find a few bears in any season.
