If you walked inside his Jayco Eagle today, you would be hard-pressed to guess it’s a 1998 model year.
This 16 year old RV had a tired old interior decor like many aging travel trailers. So much so that the current owners had the 1998 Jayco Eagle given to them by their parents.
Was it an act of love or a easy way to pawn off an old RV? You decide, because when the couple was done renovating this trailer, it looked so impressive that the parents asked for it back! 🙂
As you look at the pre-renovation photos, you can see that there’s nothing out of the ordinary about the interior decor. It looked just as it should for a 16 year old RV. Some may even say it was in above-average condition considering its age.
Unfortunately, the trailer had dated furniture, fixtures and cabinets that made it feel worn and dingy.
The new owners had no interest in keeping it as it was. They looked to transform the interior decor into something right out of a magazine. We think you’ll agree that the outcome is just terrific.

The owners attacked the project, and from top to bottom no detail got overlooked. They replaced the couch, gutted the bathroom, changed out carpet, refinished cushions, exhaustively painted the interior, and even added some accented woodwork.

With the exception of the fabrics used for the window treatments and cushions, nearly everything needed to renovate this interior was purchased at Lowe’s or Home Depot.
Just looking at the trailer from the outside, you would never guess you were about to walk into an interior decorating masterpiece. When we make friends on the road we always love to see the inside’s of their RVs. You NEVER know what you might find. For better or for worse!

Very nice. What did you use to paint the cabinets? I have the same wood cabinets in my rv and I want to brighten it up.
We just purchased a 2005 Jayco and I can’t wait to redecorate – what a lovely transformation this was!
We are 55 looking for a used RV to retire in & a long term lot.
