10 RV Kitchen Accessories That Save Time & Space

In an RV kitchen, you definitely need appliances and accessories that do double duty to save you time. With limited storage, it is very important to have kitchen accessories that also save space. These RV kitchen accessories offer both of these qualities and can be easily stored when they’re not in use.

1. Electric Kettle

This is an absolute must-have for my RV. I use my electric kettle daily for coffee, tea, and boiling water for meals.

Instead of using propane to heat a pot of water on the stove for cooking, I pre-boil the water in the electric kettle. Then I transfer the water to the pot or pan, bring it back up to a boil (takes way less time), and continue cooking. I use this method for pasta, quick rice, potatoes, hard boiled eggs, veggies, and sauces.

If your kettle starts to look dingy from hard water build-up, try this tip! Boil the kettle with white vinegar and some water. The vinegar breaks down the scale. Make sure you rinse your kettle several times to eliminate any vinegar smells.

2. Cast Iron Skillet

Once you go to a cast iron skillet, you will not want to go back to regular pans! Just like Hailee from @chasinggypsyblog, I am also obsessed with my cast iron skillet.

A cast iron skillet is a must have for an RV kitchen. It can be used on the stove, in the BBQ, over a fire, and in the oven! You can sauté, sear, fry, and even bake in a cast iron skillet too!

3. Meat Thermometer

A meat thermometer is a super simple RV kitchen accessory that you probably didn’t even know you needed. This tool can be used for measuring the temperature of candy, bread, coffee, and home brews as well.

I use my meat thermometer every time I cook meat. This has become such a time saver because I know exactly when the meat is cooked to perfection. No more guessing or cutting and releasing all the flavor!

4. Convection Oven

This one is on the list for any fellow RVers who don’t have an oven (like me). While it is definitely a pricey option, you might enjoy this accessory like Celeste from @the_chaos_tamer.

This Ninja Foodi Convection Oven is a 10-in-1 on the counter cooking powerhouse. An ultimate space saver, this device has the ability to air fry, air roast, bake, whole roast, broil, toast, bagel, dehydrate, reheat, and cook pizza.

If the ninja is out of your price range, check out this super affordable option from Toshiba. It still has 9 functions!

5. Milk Frother

A simple milk frother saves you time and makes your day just a little bit more special. Adding frothed milk to your morning java makes your daily cup a little bit fancier.

Not only can you froth milk for lattes, but you can make keto coffee or stir up any powered supplements you might take.

6. Dish Drying Rack

The secret RV kitchen accessory that no one ever shows in their Instagram photos is the humble dish drying rack.

An RV sink – even a double basin – has very little room for drying dishes. Unless you have swapped out your sink for a double basin residential one, you probably need somewhere to dry your dishes. A dish rack is a great option and can be stowed away when not in use. If you aren’t a fan of the rack assembly, you could also use a dish drying mat. This is even easier to tuck away.

7. Wine Corkscrew With A Bottle Opener

Every RV kitchen needs a wine corkscrew. Better yet, this double duty corkscrew has a bottle opener as well.

8. Magnetic Knife Holder

A magnetic knife holder is one of the best RV kitchen accessories for saving space. You will have probably seen this accessory a lot on social media for RVers as well.

This kitchen accessory keeps your knives safely tucked away but accessible for when you need them. It also allows you to free up space in your RV kitchen drawers or counter space.

9. Wood Cutting Board

This may seem like an odd item to include on a list for RV kitchen accessories, but I think it is a must!

A wood cutting board can serve multiple purposes in your RV kitchen. Not only can you use it for chopping veggies, but you can use it to create additional counter space.

In a pinch, place your wood cutting board over your sink or stove to extend your counter space. It can also be used as a serving tray or for charcuterie. I also use mine to insulate a hot pan when serving. When you are done cooking, lean the cutting board up to create a photo-worthy décor piece.

10. Instant Pot

Last on the list of RV kitchen accessories is the Instant Pot. Unless you have been off of social media for the last year, you have probably heard of this device. They are all the rage right now.

It’s for a good reason though! These kitchen appliances are multi-purpose machines! One machine does 7 different functions! This model can be used as a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, sauté pan, food warmer, and yogurt maker.

Need more functions? This model is a 9 in 1 machine! It does everything the other Instant Pot does plus acts as a sous vide, cake maker, and stock pot.
